While wearing a cowboy hat and a shoestring tie during an appearance on MSNBC's "The Morning Joe," Sen. Ken Salazar (D-Colo) pledged that Colorado will swing for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) in this fall's presidential election.
"Barack Obama is going to do very well here," Salazar said. "I think his message of change and reaching out to the middle class in the rural parts of the state are going to carry the day."
In the brief interview, host Joe Scarborough also asked Salazar if he expected Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) to bash Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz) during her speech tonight at the Democratic National Convention.
"I think what we're going to hear from Clinton is a very strong statement from her heart to her followers to follow her and support Barack Obama," Salazar said, adding that the party needs to come out of the convention united.
