Udall's DNC role still unclear, but he won't introduce Obama

UPDATED 5:30 P.M. SUNDAY 8/24

Mark Udall will be involved at the Democratic National Convention this week, but it won’t be to introduce Obama at Invesco Field Thursday night, his campaign spokesperson said Sunday.

Rumors that Udall would be given the high-profile speaking slot before Obama’s acceptance speech are not true, Tara Trujillo told PolitickerCO.com. Exactly what Udall's involvement will be at the Democratic National Convention will be announced early this week, Trujillo said.

It’s possible Udall will still speak on Thursday, even if it wouldn’t be to introduce Obama. While the speaking schedules for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are loaded with names, so far only another Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter – as well as Obama himself – have been scheduled to speak on Thursday.
