Reports Thursday afternoon that U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) is dropping out of the Democratic presidential race came as a surprise to his Colorado campaign chair.
Reached by phone and asked for comment about Kucinich dropping out, campaign chair Paige Tomson said it was the first she had heard of the news.
"I had gotten a couple phone calls earlier today, but I didn't answer them," Tomson said, before excusing herself.
Tomson called back an hour later and said while she wasn't surprised Kucinich decided to drop out, there was no advance notice to his Colorado supporters.
"No one knew this was going to happen today -- certainly not the (Colorado) state committee chairs," Tomson said.
Tomson said many -- but not all -- Kucinich supporters she knew in Colorado would likely turn to former U.S. Sen. John Edwards or U.S. Sen. Barack Obama over U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential race.
In the 2004 Democratic presidential race, 13 of Colorado's 63 delegates supported Kucinich -- the largest Kucinich delegation in the country.
*CLARIFICATION: Tomson was not speaking on behalf of the Kucinich campaign or Kucinich supporters.

Media reform info
In case you are still wondering what "Media Reform" means, here is a good website where I recommend you start.
http://freepress.net/
Hope this helps answer your question.

Media Reform
There are laws about media ownership and conduct, and those are often made by people who we elect, or are appointed by those we elect.
Although I do not have the time to discuss this now, I do suggest anyone interested look into it.
GE owns NBC. NBC pays for debates. I am not so blind so as to not tilt my head a bit.

I hope his supporters Join the fight for Impeachment hearings
Kucinich is filing his resolution to Impeach Bush on Monday Jan 28 the day of Bush's State Of The union address.
He already has one to Impeach Cheney, H Res 799 stalled in the House Judiciary Committee.
I hope all Colorado supporters will go to http://ImpeachCO.com and use the LINK to email the entire Judiciary Committee membership (with just one email message) and tell 'em to hold Impeachment Hearings immediately.
And go to http://WexlerWantsHearings.com and add your name to the over 214,000 voters that want hearings to the letter Wexler will soon present to Judiciary Chair Conyers.
JOIN US! Let's finish the Impeachment fight so that Kucinich will be remembered in American history a person of integrity who held Cheney and Bush accountable.

Paige and I spoke this
Paige and I spoke this morning by phone. We agreed the quotes were accurate, and the story stands as is.
I agreed to clarify that she was speaking on behalf of herself, not the campaign or other Kucinich supporters.
Thanks
Paige- thanks for writing. We stand by the quotes Jeremy collected from you. We appreciate taking his phone call
I'm interested: media reform? What's that? You think there is some federal role to play in "reforming" the media?

Did PolitickerCO make those
Did PolitickerCO make those quotes up? Just how dishonest a story was this? A little clarification on that would really help, and sorry about your candidate.
If this is the kind of
If this is the kind of "gotcha" silliness this new "political insider" site is going to engage in (reference the lame whining about Colorado Pols from the day before yesterday), it's a short path to ignominy for you guys. Here's hoping the checks from New York City keep showing up.
Comment
I appreciate the fact that Jeremy called me today to inquire about the story. I am compelled to comment.
I had been in a seminar most of the day, and had my phone muted. I was aware I had missed calls. That is different than, "I didn't answer them."
To my best recollection, I never mentioned Hillary, or how Kucinich supporters feel about her. In fact I made a point not to.
I never professed to say who supporters would turn to. Who am I to speak for thousands of intelligent, independent people?. I hope they go uncommitted, personally.
Kucinich supporters feel strongly about rational, intelligent solutions, particularly concerning important issues such as Single-payer health care, getting out of Iraq, media reform, the environment and energy concerns, justice, and equality under the law to name a few.
As long as people continue to work towards what they believe in, and vote in kind, the potential for great and necessary change exists.
