Internal poll shows Coffman leading by 28 points in primary

Congressional candidate Mike CoffmanCongressional candidate Mike CoffmanSecretary of State Mike Coffman has established a strong lead over his opponents in the Republican primary election for the state's 6th Congressional District, according to a post-Memorial Day internal survey.

Coffman now has a 28-point lead over his nearest challenger, businessman Wil Armstrong, in his bid to replace retiring Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, according to the report from the Tarrance Group.

The internal poll shows Coffman with particular strength among senior citizens and voters who describe themselves as "very conservative." Coffman has a 50-point advantage with voters in the latter category.

In a statement released today, Coffman's campaign announced its intention "to build on Mike's strong support among Republican voters with a targeted radio and TV advertising effort that will ensure a solid voter turnout for the August 12th Primary."

Also competing in the primary race are state Sens. Steve Ward (R-Littleton) and Ted Harvey (R-Centennial).

The Terrance Group maybe well respected group in obtaining polling data in the past, but as we all know this election year is different from any other election year, so you can throw the poll data out the window. With the average citizens of cd-6 angry with the way the economy is going, they are wanting a change, a new approach, a fresh approach and not the same old tired methods of career politicians. Go Armstrong!!

Internal Poll? I think not.

You’re right Ben. This wasn’t some internal push-poll conducted by the campaign. The Tarrance Group has been around for years and is well respected. They usually have a margin of error of around 5% and are usually right on in these types of races. Even with this margin of error Coffman is still up 23%. This race is Coffman’s to lose.

poll numbers

Actually, Coffman’s poll was conducted by the Tarrance Group which is a very reputable polling firm. You Armstrong supporters can tell yourselves whatever you need to in order to deny the facts, but the reality is Coffman’s poll is an accurate assessment of were the race stands as of now.

with the economy in the dumps (high fuel prices, high food prices, jobs, taxation, shabby treatment of the men/women in uniform when they return home from the two wars that affects families at home, etc.), it's good to know that there is a candidate who is solid on dealing with real world issues and will bring a fresh approach in fixing the environment in Congress, as well as facing the issues of the economy that is threaten the livlihood of the average citizen in cd-6. The average citizen in cd-6 is angry about the direction this country is headed and are fed up with "career politicians" taking the same old approach in resolving the challenges of every day real world. GO Armstrong!!!

Veterans for Armstrong

When the going gets tough, this marine gets indecisive when it comes to facing challenges of the voting machine debacle that are making county election officials nervous. When a campaign is built on false in house polling results tilted to favor a particular candidate, the citizens of cd-6 will see through the smoke screen. Coffman needs to fullfill the job he was elected to do 2 years ago. GO Armstrong!!

Mikes the Man

With his experience and conservative credentials, Coffman is a solid choice for the 6th Congressional District. I would love to see a Republican Congressman who has served in Iraq.

Mike continues to impress me. I would be shocked if he let this one slip away.
